Through Scholarship Programs the Gateway Scholarship Foundation, Inc. seeks to develop meaningful and sustainable relationships between businesses and educational institutions that will foster a well-qualified future work-force and support the training and development of local employees. Each year the Foundation gives away several thousands of dollars in scholarships to qualified high school students who intend to pursue post secondary education with a specific career objective. The Foundation gives special priority to students who intend to seek training in any kind of vocational trade.

Donors, especially Gateway Chamber members, are encouraged to participate at whatever level possible. The training that the post-high school students receive benefits them as well as those of you who support the students' efforts to achieve their goals by providing a strong and skilled workforce for the future.

The students' eligibility is evaluated by the Scholarship Committee on the basis of several criteria, including academic standing, financial need, and their personal statements.

This program provides a tangible way to encourage the relationship between the business and educational communities. Scholarships are awarded at a breakfast reception traditionally scheduled in June of each year.

The Gateway Scholarship Foundation Inc. gives strong preference to students pursuing a certificate or associate degree in a trade/vocational school.
